In life we can be easily swayed by the nonsense that surrounds us and influences our lives. In order to not be dragged down by the challenges in life we HAVE to step up and choose to create joy and peace as regularly as possible. There are day-to-day practices that I do to stay right side up in this chaotic world, but there are also MONTHLY mental & spiritual health practices that help me to trust in the bigger picture & remember that there is always light even in the darkness. 

These monthly practices help me flow through the different phases of life, rather than get bogged down if I’m in a challenging phase. These practices remind me to check in with myself and my life, readjust if necessary, reflect back and learn from the past month, and look ahead with guidance as I move into the next month. 

Here are my go-to monthly Mental & Spiritual health practices:

MOON CYCLE

As we all know the moon cycle is roughly 28 days, so with each month there is a new moon cycle. I practice connecting to the moon, what each phase represents and how it affects my energy and the energy that surrounds me. 

Once a month on New Moon I write out my intentions for that moon cycle. This phase is the time of new beginnings, rebirth & intention setting. It is the perfect opportunity to connect back to myself and how I intend to live out this next month.

I also take the time during New Moon to go back and reflect on last month’s intentions and how I created a flow through the month as I worked towards living those intentions each day. 

LEE HARRIS’ ENERGY UPDATE

Lee Harris is an energy intuitive and every month he shares the messages that he receives from spirit for the upcoming month. Ever since I first connected to Lee Harris and started following him I have been able to create more flow & peace in my everyday life. 

These energy updates allow me to have a glance at what energies might surround me this next month, or how I might experience the month. Whenever difficulties or challenges arise I go back to the notes I have taken from the energy update and am able to realign myself on my path. 

This is a great tool for any empaths or people who are easily influenced by the energies that surround them. When we have an idea of what to expect we aren’t as harsh on ourselves if things don’t go our way.

MONTHLY DREAMS & GOALS

Now this is a bit different than the intentions I write out at each New Moon. This is when I connect to how I wish to grow through this month, or what I hope to work towards. At different phases of my life I find I focus on different areas when writing my dreams and goals. 

Some months I focus on my personal dreams & goals while other months I write out my professional dreams & goals. This really helps me to get an idea of what I want to focus my time & energy on. If I have a week where I feel overwhelmed with items on my to-do list then I come back to my monthly dreams & goals and am able to realign myself with my priorities for the month. If the tasks do not align with my dreams & goals then they go to the bottom of the list. 

This is a great way to keep yourself accountable through life as it is easier to see progress through shorter term goals that help achieve those longer term goals. 


MONTHLY MANIFESTING & JOURNALLING 

Lastly, this practice coincides with my monthly dreams & goals. I take time to reflect & journal how the past month went and then I write out areas I hope to work on over the next month. Afterwards I write out different manifesting mantras that sync up with my dreams & goals. 

Having a page in my journal dedicated to manifesting mantras helps on those days that I am struggling to write in my journal or even find motivation to move forward. I come back to these mantras and repeat them out loud until I am able to feel the shift in my mindset. 


Mental & Spiritual health needs to be a practice we include in our lives daily. I believe having these monthly check-ins not only keeps me accountable, but it also helps me in reflecting on how far I’ve come in life. By practicing these every month I am taking time to reconnect to who I am, who I want to become and where I choose to grow in life.
