4 Tips for Everyday Self Love

There are so many posts out in the cyber world nowadays that give us all sorts of ideas for self-love & self-care, but I find that a lot of these suggestions are very SURFACE LEVEL. This means that they might be of service on good days, or even some bad days, but they don’t actually create a routine that helps you make a life you LOVE every single day no matter what. These self-love ideas are take a bath, light your favourite candle, turn your phone off for the evening, which are all GREAT ideas and should be used on a daily basis, but they don’t actually help you to learn about yourself on a deep level. 

I want to share 4 tips that will help you everyday create an environment that is full of self love, while also learning about your deepest desires, healing from any past pain, strengthening your mental wellness and creating a routine for you to actually enjoy your life. 

I’m going to stop wasting your time with all this jibber jabber and jump right into the tips! 


TAKE UP SPACE

Remember - this is YOUR life and you are the only one that is here on this earth to make sure you are living it to the best of your ability. 

So TAKE UP SPACE!

Put yourself first. Stop shying away from new opportunities that could give you an amazing experience. Stop putting yourself on the back-burner because there are so many other tasks that need to get done. 

You are important. 

You deserve to be here. 

You are worthy of actually enjoying your life. 

If you have a differing opinion than someone else, then say so! People will just assume you agree with them unless you say otherwise. You don’t need to be mean about it, just state it because your opinion MATTERS. 

If you have an idea then SHARE it! Stop waiting for people to ask you because most likely they have no clue that you have an idea that you are thinking about. 

I’m going to say it again - THIS IS YOUR LIFE - so stop waiting for someone else to live it for you. 


You are on this earth for a reason, so TAKE UP SPACE because you aren’t hurting anyone else by trying to stay small, you are only hurting yourself. 

When you stay small, let people walk all over you, keep your opinions to yourself, and continuously put yourself on the back-burner you are BASICALLY telling the universe that you believe you don’t matter and that is being manifested into the universe. 

So it’s time to change. 

Learn to TAKE UP SPACE in your life daily! 


SAY THANK-YOU

Having gratitude does wonders for our manifesting goals! But it also does wonders for our own mindset

We create a positive environment when we are able to recognize all that we are thankful for in life. I mean really, how can you be angry after saying thank you for 5 different things, moments or people in your life. 

I bet you will instantly have a smile on your face after thinking of things you are grateful for. If you don’t then you’re doing it wrong! 

Get in the habit of listing 5 things a day that you are grateful for. They can be physical objects, people in your life, experiences you’ve had or even characteristics of yourself! 

Doing this even on the good days will make it easier on the hard days. Honestly, it’s the most affective on those hard days because you remind yourself that life isn’t always difficult and that will help you get through the challenges you are faced. 

REFLECT & LISTEN

This is one of the most powerful tips I have to share with you!

One of the most loving things you can do for yourself is reflecting & listening. I mean reflect on the emotions you experience each day, listen to your heart & soul as you experienced those emotions. 

Doing this allows you to learn from yourself. 

You are opening yourself up to be able to grow in life because when you reflect on an emotion or thought you are asking yourself: why did this emotion come forward; how did it make you feel; what was the cause to bring this emotion forward; what you might be able to change in the future; and how you can choose to move forward in life.

This is an act of self-love because you are recognizing that your emotions are part of you and that they can teach you how to heal from the negative emotions and how to connect more to the positive emotions. 

The best way to actively reflect & listen is through journalling. Again, this is not always a surface level activity, meaning you need to dig deeper than just journalling what you ate that day or what your dreams & goals are for your life. 

Yes journalling those things are also good, but you need to get in the habit of asking yourself the hard hitting questions in order to learn & grow through life.

JOYOUS ACTIVITY

The last tip that I have for you is to make sure you do at least ONE thing a day that brings you joy! 

Joy is an emotion that you do not need to wait for something or someone to spark it within you. 

Joy is an emotion that you should strive to reach every single day!

And you know what?! 

It’s actually easier than you are thinking right now. 

If you don’t know what brings you joy then you have some work to do. Think about your life. 

Think about certain moments where you experienced joy. 

Was it doing an activity? Was it surrounding yourself with certain people? 

You should be able to think of multiple moments in your life that you experienced joy, and if you really think you have never experienced joy then it’s time to make some MAJOR changes to your life. 

Here, I’ll give you a few examples of how I connect to joy in life. 

Walking in nature brings me joy. 

Spending time with my dog brings me joy. 

Connecting to like-minded souls, having deep conversations brings me joy. 

Talking to my mom brings me joy. 

Adventuring in the mountains brings me joy. 

Helping others in their life brings me joy. 

As I said, these are just a few things that help me connect to joy, and you know what?! I can EASILY implement them into my daily routine. 

So whether you are having a good day or a bad day, it’s important to fit at least one activity into your life that will allow you to experience joy.

After all, this is YOUR life and if you aren’t able to be joyful on a regular basis then it’s time for you to make some major changes. I don’t know maybe you enjoy being hateful, angry & full of resentment. No? Ok, then it’s time to start including any joyous activity into your daily routine!


I’m telling you, by adding these four strategies into your daily life you are going to start seeing a major shift in who you are as a person and how you choose to live your life!
