Syd: Hello everyone! Welcome back to another episode of Carrying Connected Conversations. This is Sydney, and I am quite excited to be here today. We are doing things differently for this episode. It is the 5th Monday of the month, so this is our BONUS episode. The structure is going to be quite different and it’s very exciting because I am looking into the eyes of my co-host, not through a screen! We are in person!

Let’s just jump right into all the exciting vibes! Ang, how are you doing?

Ang: Hiiiii! It’s so funny because even though we are recording on the computer, I keep looking at the computer to see you through the screen and I’m like, “nooo, I can look at Sydney”. I am doing so well and right before we started our episode today I am so glad that we opened up… this is crazy that I am staring at you while recording! I’m so sorry.

Syd: It’s trippy! It’s trippy.

Ang: It really is! But, it’s so nice because we opened up the conversation today with a nice little grounding practice and it was so perfectly needed for our energy. Our energies were at slightly different levels and I feel like that practice really leveled us out and now we are in the same energy.

Syd: And so intentional right?

Ang: Yes exactly!

Syd: Well, I find, especially, when we are on the computer and not in the same physical space, staring at each other through the screen does keep me grounded and focused. So doing it in person I feel like…

Ang: I feel like it was needed.

Syd: Yes! It’s very different, very different.

So we are going to jump right in. We are going to be picking questions from a bowl. We have a bowl filled with questions.

Ang: Well, to be honest it’s a strainer! Hahah!

Syd: Yes it is a strainer, that’s true!

Ang: It’s our makeshift bowl! Hahah

Syd: Ya! I love it! Filled with questions that we have written down that we found from the internet. We are just going to go back and forth, read them to each other and answer them. We will see what we learn about each other, what we learn about ourselves. So you want to start? Or do you want me to ask you a question?

Ang: Let me start with asking you a question. The first question, ooo it’s one of mine that I wrote. I love this. Think of someone who cares deeply for you, what would they say your purpose is?

Syd: Do I need to say the person?

Ang: Your choice if you want to share or not.

Syd: Ok, think of someone and what they would say my purpose is.

Ang: Someone that cares about you.

Syd: I would say, they would say my purpose is to help other people find love for themselves and create a life of peace or whatever they want in life. That person would say that I am here to help other people learn to love themselves and love life.

Ang: So essentially, your purpose is helping other people find their purpose.

Syd: Exactly!

Ang: Wowww! I love that one! So good!

Syd: My mom is what came into my mind.

Ang: Yessss! Mama Weezy!

Syd: As soon as you said, think of a person, my mom was what popped into my mind.

Ang: That’s funny because as soon as I wrote this question I thought it’d be mom.

Syd: Totally! My question for you is, you wrote this one. Over the last 6 months when have you felt the most alive and electrified?

Ang: Okay that is so easy. So easy. Literally right now.

Syd: Yeessss!!!

Ang: Hahaha! Because we are recording this in December, so sorry if it’s not actually January. But in December, this is when I officially moved out to BC. I am in BC and I’ve been here for maybe 2 and a half weeks. In the past 6 months I left Orange Theory, left my partner I was with at the time, and kind of dropped everything. I needed to find some time and some things to do for myself. So here we are. This is where I feel totally electrified and lit the F up.

Syd: It really is proof that if you are not feeling amazing in your life and if you feel like you don’t have purpose, often the best way to move forward is to be willing to be brave and let go of the things that you know in your heart aren’t serving you. Even though it’s so hard to walk away from something. You went through a period where you walked away and you didn’t know what to do, there was so much confusion. But you kept going, you kept going and now you are in this space where you have truly found the things that light up your heart and your soul. You are in an environment that supports you. You can change the way your life feels if you are willing to be courageous and take those steps.

Ang: And you know what helped me keep going? It was knowing that eventually at a certain point I would be here. I was always tapping into this feeling of what it would be like to be out west. This is not the first time of being out here and living out here. I lived here from May to October, the summer months, about 5 years ago. I knew what it felt like living out here, it was just going to be a little bit different because it would be winter. So the more I tapped into that feeling the more motivated I was to figure out the actual action plan as to what I can do to get me here.

Syd: Yes!! Which is manifestation.

Ang: Exactly! Boom I’m proof.

Syd: I love it! So good.

Ang: Okay next question, I hope this is one that you wrote. Yes it is! Okay okay! If you achieved all of your life goals tomorrow, what would you do next?

Syd: Ah ha! I remember writing this one and thinking it was a good question. If I achieved all of my life goals already, what would I do next? The first thing that comes to my mind is that I would really focus on the connections I have with other people and helping them achieve their life goals.

Ang: Mmmmm.

Syd: If I’ve already achieved all of my life goals, my project, my focus, my intention, would be creating space for other people to do that and for other people to be inspired, motivated and to have the courage. So whatever I can do to show up for you, or my parents, or my clients, or whatever. Supporting them to see that they can achieve all of their life goals.

Ang: I love that! It’s really showing that one of these concepts that my mentor said before… for you, for me, for us. Right!? You are living the path for yourself, which is also the path for someone else, and then it collectively leads that path for others to follow as well. Now if you don’t mind Syd, I would really love to answer this one. It’s funny because I saw this question too and I thought, no. I thought I had an answer, but I didn’t. Now it’s totally different.

If I achieve all of my life goals tomorrow, what would I do next? To be quite honest, I’m never going to achieve all of my life goals, so this question really stood out for me. They are always going to be changing and the reason why I am thinking this is when I look at my past 6 months. My life goal was to get out west, okay cool now I am here. It’s a matter of now what’s next? What more else can I create in my life with the purest intention and purpose. It goes to show that I am never going to reach that final end goal because my life is a journey and it’s not a destination. This is something I’ve definitely had to overcome in my past experiences. So that is what I would do.

Syd: I think that’s a really good point to make too. When I first read that question my perspective was exactly where you took it. When you asked me the question I almost heard it from a different light. When I first wrote the question down, I had the same perspective as you have. It’s this perspective that the Universe is constantly expanding, it’s constantly growing and evolving. We are part of the universe so we are constantly growing and evolving. It’s the concept that, once you achieve one desire, you are going to have more desires. The more desires come in and the more that you work towards them, you are creating that expansive energy. You are creating that growth and that evolving for yourself and the Universe. You are exactly right, rather than perceiving it from the perspective of “I have to achieve all of these” and you are working towards a means to the end, you are trying to get to the end result. Instead it’s about enjoying life, enjoying the process and experiencing your dreams as you go. The moment I feel like I have achieved all of my dreams I know I am going to have more dreams and I am going to create more.

Ang: Exactly! It’s never ending. I think you said when you first answered the question, you felt it from my perspective that I just shared. When I saw that question I thought about it from your perspective, like how I would actually answer. It’s kind of funny that we both changed, even though we are both on the same wavelength.

Syd: Totally! I think it is both! You and I are similar in the way that we want to give back to other people. We want to help other people and at the same time we are constantly manifesting, growing, and evolving. We are working towards desires and knowing those desires are going to grow. We see it from both lenses. Love it!

Ang: Yes yes yes!

Syd: Okay I am going to pick one for you.

Ang: Okay.

Syd: There is one stuck in my thumb.

Ang: I know I can see it. I’m wondering which one you are going to pick!

Syd: How do you want to make others feel?

Ang: Awe! I really want to make others feel empowered. I want them to feel totally in love with their life. I want them to feel this never ending sense of purpose, even if it’s a purpose for any person in the world that they don’t have yet or they haven’t found yet. I want them to not only find it, but to continue pursuing it. Even if it changes, that’s totally fine, it’s knowing that they always have something to strive for. I know life gets hard, so I think it’s having that willpower for them to keep going and feeling empowered about themselves and their life is probably the most powerful thing you could ever feel. If everyone in this world could feel that for themselves, that’s amazing. I would love that.

Syd: Ya! That’s beautiful! That’s really like creating space for people to find the courage and the willpower, the motivation. Ultimately, I don’t think motivation is something that comes from outside of us, it can, it very well can, but when we can learn to create our own motivation, create our own willpower, and create our own courage, then we know how to tap into that energy whenever we want. So, teaching people how to find that willpower within themselves, you’re setting them up for the rest of their life.

Ang: It’s solidifying what you are doing and exactly who you want to be.

Syd: Yes! I want to answer this question.

Ang: Oh!! Yes! I love that! I was going for the next! I love it!

Syd: I really want to answer this question as well. So it was, how do you want to make others feel? I want to make others feel so safe in expressing their emotions and as if they know how to nurture themselves in their own emotions. They know that when they are feeling a heavy emotion, it’s not the end of the world. They know they can support themselves through that practice, that ability. They can carry grace for themselves, and compassion for themselves. I want to make others feel like their emotions aren’t controlling their life. They feel safe in expressing their emotions, they feel heard, whether I’m making them feel heard and understood. But in that process they are also learning how to hear themselves and understand themselves. I think that changes the game of life, when you can express your emotions in a safe environment and feel understood.

Ang: I totally agree. I think that is an important tool for everyone to have to gain the emotional intelligence of themselves. I think that is also going to bleed into how you show up for other people in their life. It will not only strengthen your connection with self, but it will create a deeper connection with the feeling of empathy towards others. It creates an overall better understanding of people and of life.

Syd: Ya! Exactly!

Ang: I like that a lot.

Syd: It really is, when you change the relationship you have with yourself you change the relationship with everyone else.

Ang: God! If anyone can say that’s true, it’s me. Holy crap yes! Hitting the nail on the head!

Syd: Yessss! So good!

Ang: Oh my goodness! Okay, next question. What is a job that you would do even if you never made any money? From how I see this it’s what you are currently doing, or it’s something you never even thought of doing.

Syd: Even if I never made any money… is the idea that the money aspect is taken care of in my life? I guess it’s despite money.

Ang: Ya we are thinking of a world without money. So what job would you be doing?

Syd: I would be doing exactly what I am doing. I would be mentoring other people in learning how to own their power and tapping into themselves and creating a life that they want to live. I think so many of us, especially in the western society, have been brought up to live in this specific order. You have to do this things in a certain way. We are taught that it doesn’t matter whether or not you enjoy it or not. You push through, you get through, and then you get to enjoy your retirement. And I’m like, no no no. We are all actually meant to live a little differently. We are not meant to have these exact points we are meant to hit. What do you really want? What do you really want to experience in life? And how can you go about a way in doing that to fulfill you?

Ang: I love that because it shows that what you are doing in this world is not about the money, it’s about the purpose driven action. You are doing things with the intent that you are going to get the same benefits that you’ve personally received, and now you get to share the gift you’ve created for yourself with other people as well. That’s so beautiful Syd.

Syd: If it was about the money… I started my own business. If life was about the money for me, I would’ve stopped and gone to something else a lot earlier. Starting your own business takes time to build things up.

Ang: So true!

Syd: Ya! This is exactly what I want to be doing.

Ang: Eeee! Love that!

Syd: So good! Okay next question. What kind of “shower” ideas do you get? If there is no shower, then when you are around any body of water? That’s good. I like that because you know when you are in the shower, things just pop into your head.

Ang: Ya totally! Okay. Wow! What do I get when I am around some sort of body of water? I really want to say that it’s definitely where I am the most creative and where I have the most ideas, which I guess is the concept of this question. I relate to me being a Picses, so I am always going with the flow. Being around water I am in my natural element, so if anything it creates this sense of, how can I create more flow in my life, with whatever problems are coming to me. Let’s say, we will talk about my move because we’ve already spoken about it. There were so many times where I hopped into a tub and I created a full intentional ceremony in order for me to come out of that tub with some beneficial insight for my situation. I was definitely struggling for quite some time those past 6 months trying to create a next move and a next plan. Anytime I came out of the tub I always was more centered and grounded. Which is interesting because I was asking for clarity and also for answers. What do I do? What’s the next thing? Everything I kept getting was, slow down and focus on you. I know this is kind of a broad answer, but it really helps me to tap into what is best for me in my life in order for me to create more flow.

Syd: That makes a lot of sense. It really is that you know the water is what helps you to flow, so it’s not even about getting certain ideas. It’s really about gaining clarity for the problems or challenges you are in. What are you needing to focus on right now? What kind of clarity is going to help you in this flow?

Ang: Yes exactly.

Syd: I love that!

Ang: There was a time when I was living in Quebec, where there is a lot of white water. I love the sound of white water, if you’ve never been near it, it’s very different from waves crashing. It is that constant movement of water. There were many times where I would drive myself to the closest rush of water, so I could write down a whole bunch of ideas that would come to me. I found the intense energy of the water, it flowed at such a high frequency where it was like, “here’s any idea, here’s an idea, here’s an idea”, so it was really helpful for my life then. Now it’s a little different because I am trying to receive clarity from the water and I’m in a different phase of life. I’m not looking for ideas and inspiration, I’m looking for ideas to be grounded.

Syd: Beautiful! I love that so much! Great question.

Ang: Alright, what do you say, we do one more each?

Syd: Sure!

Ang: Yes! Love it, love it! If you had no deadlines, what project or task would you focus on right now?

Syd: Oh! I think I wrote this one! I remember when it came up and I had an answer when I wrote it. That’s what is popping up. If I had absolutely no projects and I didn’t have to worry about money coming, not that I worry about money coming in. But I didn’t have to focus my business around marketing offers or whatever, and I could go away and rent an airbnb or a cabin or something in the woods or by the ocean. Somewhere I could just be for a month or two months, I would write a book.

Ang: Oh I love that!

Syd: That’s what I would do. Ya!

Ang: That really goes to show, well I know this of you, that’s totally your place to be. It’s you being 100% in your element and you focusing on the intent of receiving all that energy from being in that very calm and purposeful place, that now you’re going a little bit further and diving into your life. Well, I’m assuming that’s what the book would be about.

Syd: Ya! Definitely!

Ang: Ya, that’s beautiful.

Syd: Ya it would be the lessons I’ve learned and the healing I’ve moved through. I really feel this, and I’ve started it, and then I haven’t written in a long time because I’ve been focused on other things in my business. I really feel this energy of, if I had 2 months where I could focus all of my energy on just writing, then I could stay in that energetic space. I could allow the clarity to come through of what the structure will look like, or what moments and memories I want to write about that connect to the concept of the book I am writing. Right now I’ve got different offers that I am focusing on, so depending on the day of the week I dabble into this project that I am working on, and then this project. Which is great and I love it. At the same time I can see that if I had nothing else that I was focused on, and I could be solely focused on my book, that is exactly what I would do.

Ang: I love that! Super intentional!

Syd: Yess!! Okay, one more here. When was the last time you felt lit up?

Ang: Oh damn!

Syd: Not like wasted! Haha!

Ang: Hahaha! Oh that’s hilarious! It’s not where my mind was going, but thanks for the clarification.

Syd: Hahah I know I know! When I wrote the question I knew what it meant, but I thought it was funny because someone could totally take it in a different way.

Ang: Hahaha! Just getting litty in the city! Oh that’s so funny!

Okay, well I kind of want to take the time to think about it because obviously it’s right now in my life, where I am the most lit up. I would say, the start of last summer. The start of last summer was about 6 months into my healing process of the long term breakup. I wanted to find ways that I could really get in touch with myself that were different from how I did things in the last 10 years. I really started to amaze myself with what I could create. I was definitely in a place where I felt so good. Everything I did felt like it was all needed and everything that had happened in my past was made to live for this moment. A moment that never ended, well obviously it did end. At the time it didn’t feel like it was ended. It wasn’t a specific day, or a specific event. It was a feeling that stayed within me for so long and I think it was because there was a lot of independence. Independence with my freedom. I felt very free to do things, talk to people, whenever and wherever I wanted in a way that felt good for me. There were no restrictions. I think that would be the time where I really felt the most lit up.

Syd: I love that! I love how you were able to point out what it was that allowed you to feel lit up. The freedom and creating connections with new people and feeling like there was nothing that was restricting you and holding you back. You could just let your light shine!

Ang: Yes! Shine bright like a diamond!

Syd: Hahaha! It makes me think of Bejeweled!

Ang: Bejeweled!

Syd: Taylor Swift. It’s one of her songs!

Ang: Oh my gosh I was thinking of a game I know called Bejeweled and I didn’t think you were referring to this crystal game. Hahah! It’s funny because we were just listening to a whole Tayler Swift album for like hours on end!

Syd: Ya! T Swift party! Dancing!

Ang: Oh I love it! Well, Syd, that was amazing because we were really able to dive into each other's way of feeling about our lives in a way that we don’t necessarily talk about all the time. These are totally random questions pulled from the internet. These weren’t questions that we wanted to know about each other, they were very intentional questions. I just want to say that I have had so much fun today!

Syd: Yes! And like you said, totally different questions. It wasn’t on one topic, we were just discussing a bunch of different things on how we perceive ourselves and how we perceive life.

Ang: Yes! Exactly! We are cutting it short here today because we are going to be doing a part two the next month that there are five weeks. If you have your calendars close by you will know that it is coming up in May. The second part of this will be released the last Monday of May. This is May 29th. We are so excited for you guys to dive in and see a little more of us in this light because these are super fun conversations! I know Syd, just as much as myself, enjoyed this conversation today.

With that being said, we are going to leave it here. We have our normal format coming up next week. Starting with a check in with myself and then the next week a check in with Syd. We are excited to be checking in with you soon with a glimpse about what is going on in our lives.

From now until next week, we are sending you so much love, so much courage, so much strength, and so much purpose driven action that allows you to do things differently in your life. We love you and we will chat at you next week.

Syd: Bye everyone!
