INTRO

Hello hello hello. Welcome back to another episode of messages for the empath soul. Today’s episode I channeled because I’ve been seeing a lot of conversation around healing. I’ve been working really hard behind the scenes cultivating healing containers, both in my membership and in my 1:1 clients and in future courses that I am going to be releasing and coming out with. Healing is such a huge part of the conversation in the spiritual world as we grow our consciousness. I believe that in order to manifest the life of our dreams we have to be willing to do the healing work. Today’s topic is the number 1 step to healing. I think this step is either easily missed by people or people are completely unaware that this is the number 1 step and the first and main step to create healing.

Before we jump in, allow me to introduce this space.

This is your soul journey and I am here channeling messages from the Universe to help guide and support you.

This is Messages for the Empath Soul.

If you’re new here, I’m Sydney a ⅖ generator, with a deep intuitive connection. My mission is to empower as many spiritual empaths in this community, creating a ripple effect of compassion and peace that is felt around the world.

Today we are gathered here to talk about the number 1 step to healing. As I already mentioned I believe that healing is a necessary part of your soul journey. This is because throughout the human experience you are going to move through challenges, you are going to feel tested, you are going to be pushed to the limit and you are going to experience some heavy emotions. These all require healing.

There is also needing to heal the traumas you experienced in childhood. As an adult you may not consider those moments of your past to be traumatic, but for a child who didn’t know how to regulate their nervous system and a child who wasn’t able to provide their own sense of safety and security, those moments were definitely traumatic. Whether emotionally or mentally traumatic, they affected how you saw the world, how you view yourself and how you chose to move through life afterwards.

You need to heal emotionally, mentally, and spiritually in order to awaken your own soul truths, in order to be able to build a level of trust in yourself, and in order to build a sense of confidence and courage as you choose to build the life you dream of. Manifesting is such a largely known topic when it comes to spirituality. I believe that the only way for us to be able to truly manifest is if we are also healing.

What is the number 1 step to healing? It is to slow down.

What does this even mean and how are you meant to practice it? Well let me break it down for you. Today I want to talk about 2 different things when it comes to slowing down in relation to healing. The first thing I want to talk about is masculine energy versus feminine energy. The second thing I want to talk about is what slowing down actually looks like and how to practice it in order to create that healing environment.

Masculine Energy is DO-DO-DO; Whereas Feminine Energy is the Listening, the Nurturing, the Being

There is a lot of pressure that you are going to feel in life to keep moving, to keep hustling and to constantly work on that to do list. This pressure is actually postponing your ability to live more peacefully, and that is why we need to heal. So you can cultivate more peace in your daily life, you can cultivate more joy, you can curate those dreams and desires.

I’m not saying that masculine energy is not necessary. What I am saying is that we are living too much from our masculine energy sometimes. Yes, taking action is important. Yes, planning and strategizing is important. But often in life we are living from that masculine energy in a very misaligned place, in an unhealthy place. Because we are constantly feeling that pressure to Go-Go-Go, Do-Do-Do, hustle hustle hustle.

When we can come from an aligned energy when we take action; when we can come from an intentional energy when we take action; when we can come from a purposeful energy when we take action, that is how we curate our dream life. First we need to practice healing. I’m not saying drop everything and just heal. I’m saying as we live life we need to find harmony in healing and doing. We need to find harmony in nurturing ourselves, nurturing our lives, nurturing the communities around us and actively creating.

By actively including moments of slowing down in your daily life you are creating space for the feminine energy to flow in. This is where you nurture yourself, where you create healing and where you more easily tune into your intuition. As somebody who lives a soul led life, I don’t do this by only living in my feminine energy, I find harmony between my feminine energy and my masculine energy. Because, constantly through my day I create moments to slow down, to tune inwards, to ask myself “how am I feeling? What am I thinking?” When I can better understand the energy that I am coming from in my thoughts and my emotions I can then make sure that I am acting in an aligned way, and in an intentional way.

When the number step to healing is to slow down, I want you to understand the difference between the masculine energy and the feminine energy. The do-do-do versus that listening space, the nurturing space, the being space.

Earlier today I went to record a podcast, a different episode than the current one I am recording for you. Part of my old outdated habits when it comes to work and business and creating financial freedom for myself, along with the supportive work that I create in the world to help other spiritual empaths. Part of it is coming from an aligned way, I cannot channel these messages from the universe, I cannot curate something that is going to be healing and feel good for you, if I am coming from a feeling of forcefulness within; if I am coming from a feeling of needing to rush into action.

One of the things that I have worked hard on is my energetic relationship to the concept of work. The old outdated practices that were instilled in me from society and my parents and the generations that came before me is “you need to work hard in order to create financial freedom in order to create a life that you love”. Oftentimes that thought pattern of working hard or that action of working hard can be instilled with fear. I am afraid that I am not going to have the financial freedom or the financial stability that I desire. So all of a sudden from that fear based state there is this feeling of pressure that builds, and my thoughts go “I need to do everything. I need to take action on everything. I need to do this. I need to do that. I need to rush into this. My to-do list is getting longer.” Can you feel the energy behind that thought pattern? Can you notice that the energy is filled with pressure? A sense of rushing. A sense of forcefulness.

Versus, when I recognized this morning that my energy did not feel good, there was a pressure, there was a fear coming that was trying to force me into doing everything. I said to myself that I need to put my phone down, I need to close my laptop and I just need to breathe; tune inwards and notice this feeling that is cropping up within me. By taking a small moment of slowing down I started to listen and I started to acknowledge “oh yes this is fear that is playing into this energy”.

There is this old thought pattern that says I have to do things a certain way in order to be successful. When really, if I tune into the voice of my soul and I live a soul led life, my spirit is constantly telling me that I can do things my way; I can do things in a way that feels good to me; there are no rules on how to become successful. There are no rules on how to build a successful business. There are no rules on what steps you have to take or you should take to reach that financial freedom that you desire. There are no rules on how to create a community that you feel connected with. Whatever it is you are building, whatever passion you feel within you, whatever purpose you are feeling called to show up in. Whether you are an artist, you are a lawyer, you are an educator, you are an accountant, whatever job you have, maybe you are a stay at home mom, maybe you are a health care practitioner. Whatever job you have, there is some sort of calling that has led you to that job, maybe you are really good at something, and you have chosen that path to create financial freedom for yourself. You have chosen that path to make money in order to afford to live in this world. This is just one line of healing that we are talking about.

Ask yourself when you are moving through life, “am I showing up to work today from the feeling that I have to be here?” There is pressure, and forcefulness, and stress and strain. I don’t want to come from this energy, I want to come from the energy that I feel purposeful in this work. I feel like I am actually making a difference, even as a grocery store clerk, even as a stay at home mom. You desire that feeling of purpose, you desire that feeling of peace. I’m making assumptions here, so obviously if you don’t desire this then maybe you’re not in the right space, because that's what I share here. I’m assuming you desire more purpose, I’m assuming you desire more peace in your life. I’m assuming you desire to cultivate a life where you feel at peace.

If you are living on a daily basis from that do-do-do energy, the pressure, the feeling of rushing and forcefulness, then you are never going to cultivate that feeling of peace you desire. So again, this morning, I slowed down. I closed my eyes and I took a couple of deep breaths and I recognized, “I need to shift the energy that I am coming from”. That moment, that very small moment allowed me to tune in and listen. It allowed me to nurture myself. It allowed me to focus on a state of being in alignment rather than acting from pressure.

Your feminine energy is where you nurture yourself, it’s where you create healing, and it’s where your intuition flows through. Both are required for healing. The feminine and masculine energy  are both necessary in healing. But most importantly, you cannot heal, you cannot shift your patterns, you cannot shift your belief systems, you cannot manifest your dreams if you are not slowing down and tuning into that feminine energy. That is the healing space.

Let’s drop into the second thing I want to talk about today.

What does Slowing Down look like and how can you practice it?

I think I already gave you a great example of what I experienced this morning. Ultimately, you can’t keep moving forward when it comes to healing because then you will be behaving from the wound. Oftentimes we think, “Oh I’m doing it differently, I’m just moving, I’m going to do it differently.” But without slowing down you are actually continuing to behave in the same pattern, it might just look a little different. You are continuing to behave, to live, to act, to react, from the wound of not feeling worthy, not feeling enough, not feeling safe. In those intentional moments of slowing down it allows you to more easily listen to your thoughts and your heart. You have to take a moment to hear the shadows of the fear, to hear the shadows of the worry, the doubt. When you can build awareness on those thoughts you can start to recognize when they are coming from a misaligned space because they don’t feel good.

The slowing down allows you to come back into your heart so you can decide “how do I want to feel? What energy do I want to move from?” This is the act of holding space for yourself, letting yourself process the emotions and feelings that have been sitting stagnant within you. That’s healing.

When you become aware that something doesn’t feel good or that you are feeling the pressure build up, the initial thought is “quick let’s move forward, quick let’s take action, quick let’s do this”. We are not healing, we are still continuing to behave from the wound. So, slow down, tune into your thoughts and tune into the energy in your heart and the emotions that you are feeling. That is you holding space for yourself. That is you giving yourself a moment to express to yourself how you’ve been feeling. We don’t want to bypass that, we don’t want to put toxic positivity on that. You have to express to yourself how you feel, and sometimes for me this looks like crying. Sometimes for me this looks like acknowledging my frustrations. This doesn’t mean that quickly I shift that in the moment and for the rest of the day I’m on a high vibration. But the more often I hold space for myself when I’m feeling those triggered moments, the more often that I slow down to hold space for myself, that is how I cultivate nurturing energy in my life, healing energy in my life; all so I can tune into my intuition more easily. So I’m not going to continue to ignore or avoid those triggers, those emotions or those thoughts because when you continue to avoid it and ignore it then you continue to root into the unhealthy pattern. The unhealthy and unsupportive pattern, living from fear.

I have some tips for you on how you can practice slowing down so you can cultivate that healing space for you.

Journaling

Journaling is a beautiful practice of slowing down because it quite literally is a practice of reflection and introspection. In your journaling practice you are slowing down enough to listen to the thoughts, to write out the thoughts that are weighing on you. Maybe you use journal prompts, they are a great guide for you because without them you may not know where to start. I have a lot of journal prompts on my website in my free resources. If you are on my email list then you can access those, if you are not on my email list then you can join at adventuringwithposeidon.com/subscribe You can gain access to the different workshops I have created and in those workshops I have some E-Books and guidebooks with journal prompts. If that is not enough for you, I do have some guidebooks for sale on my website that are filled with journal prompts. I also have some blog posts on my website that are filled with journal prompts.

Journal prompts are a great thing to use if you don’t know what to journal.

Meditation

Another great way to slow down. Oftentimes we rush into action because we are avoiding something. In meditation we can no longer avoid what is weighing on us. Meditation is not about clearing your mind, it’s about getting comfortable with the thoughts that are always cycling through our mind. Building the state of awareness, listening, not just listening to your thoughts but becoming aware that you are not your thoughts, you are the one listening to them. You are the awareness of those thoughts, you are listening to those thoughts, you are not the thoughts themself. A meditation practice can help you to slow down to see what areas require healing within you. It can help you to shift your energetic state. When I am feeling overwhelmed I will come to a meditation practice to focus on breathing, to cleanse my energy and to shift the way that I feel.

Connect to nature

Sometimes just getting outside, seeing the trees, and the sky above you and the earth beneath your feet. Going out for a nature walk, that is slowing down. You might be sitting there listening to me thinking “well actually that is an action”; yes, it is an action because you are physically walking, you are physically doing something, but the slowing down is in the awareness. Being with nature, connecting with nature, breathing deeply. Not just walking and listening to a podcast, which can also be helpful. But in healing it’s the slowing down that is necessary.

Connecting to your divine team.

I will call on my spirit guides, my angels, my ancestors, and I will feel their presence around me and I will ask them for support. That is slowing down, that is creating space to heal.

Check In

There is always the practice to check in with yourself. How are you feeling right now? What are you thinking right now? Not just physically doing the things, but tuning inwards. Maybe you are doing the dishes and you check in “how is my day going so far? That moment of feeling triggered earlier, what was it that triggered me?”

Slowing down is what creates space for healing. Tune out of the masculine energy for a moment, that do-do-do, and we tune into the feminine energy, the space of listening, nurturing and healing.

Slowing down is the number 1 step to healing.

I know that this has been a short episode so far, and I want to keep it short and intentional because I want you to start practicing slowing down in your life.

I have some journal prompts, I was just telling you where you can find journal prompts and I forgot, you can find them in this episode. I don’t want you to walk away from listening to this episode and forgetting this message. I want you to actually apply it to your life, I’m just here sharing the messages, you get to do something with it. You get to apply it to your life, you get to embody the beautiful divine energy from this message through this next part of our podcast, which is self reflection creates soul connection.

SELF REFLECTION CREATES SOUL CONNECTION

Self reflection is a powerful tool that helps you to better understand yourself and strengthen your connection with the Universe. Which is where you build trust and find a way to surrender more easily.

Use these journal prompts to bring more healing energy into your daily life. Grab your journal and a pen, write them down and reflect on them.

1 - What are the thought patterns you hear that create pressure around needing to do more?

When you can see and understand those thought patterns you can start to create healing.

2 - How would it feel to slow down and bring more calmness into your life?

3 - What does finding a balance or more harmony between living from your masculine energy and your feminine energy mean to you?

4 - How can you actively start slowing down more in life and what practices feel aligned with you?

Slowing down is the number one step to healing, so I want to remind you that it is okay to slow down. There is time, you have time, there is no rush. There is no pressure to be somewhere else other than this moment right here right now, so allow yourself to slow down. This is how you cultivate more peace, this is how you create healing; this is how you feel more free; this is how you feel more connected to your soul, when you practice slowing down.

GOODBYE

As I close out this episode I want you to remember, your life is happening right now. There is not some future moment you need to rush forward to. Be here, take a deep breath, know that you are meant to be in this moment.

Life will always bring more lessons.

Your soul will always guide you to more healing.

Your mind will always require support to see from a bigger perspective.

You will always desire to be seen, heard and understood.

Be here now for yourself. In time you will feel the call to share more light and compassion with the world.
