Reframing My Beliefs | Episode 133: Check in with Syd

A spiritual journey really is about understanding your belief system and being willing to shift your beliefs as your perspective on life changes.

In this episode of the Carrying Connected Conversations podcast, Syd is sharing her personal experience of reframing her belief system into something more supportive. As you’ve heard Syd share about her fear of lack as she worked through shifting her perspective into abundance she is going deeper into how this affects her belief system. Co-host Ang is gaining a better understanding of why Syd is debunking her old belief system and how she goes about doing this.

Listen to the episode now to better understand what it means to reframe your beliefs and what Syd’s new supportive belief system includes.

You can continue reading about the conversation Syd & Ang had on the podcast through the transcript below.

Ang: Hello and welcome back to another episode of Carrying Connected Conversations. This is Angie chatting at you this week to start things off for Sydney’s check in. I am pretty excited about this one because it’s all about reframing her beliefs. I know we’ve chatted about this on the podcast earlier, but this is exactly why we are chatting about it again. To show that this growth process is never ending, it keeps going. I am really looking forward to seeing where exactly she has debunked some of her previous belief systems to where she is wanting to head now.

Let’s go ahead and check in with Syd. Syd, how are you doing my fav co-host ever?

Syd: I better be! Hahah!

Ang: Hahaha you better be because you are the only one!

Syd: Hahaha exactly! I am doing really good today, feeling really good. I don’t know if anyone else experiences this, but I can start off my days not feeling that great and then hop on a call with you Ang, and it completely changes my energy. I don’t know if our listeners have a friend in their life that the moment they hang out with them or connect with them, it immediately uplifts them. It gets them into a space of feeling better. Not that I feel better because I am taking your energy, because we both started off today’s call only feeling alright. So, it’s as if when we get together our energy becomes magnetic and we create an extremely uplifted environment for the both of us. So, I am feeling really good, happy to be here in conversation with you.

Ang: Oh my gosh! I love that! Well, I need to say thank you because clearly I am rubbing off on you, so I am hoping it means that we, we collectively are rubbing off on our listeners. So, listeners we see you, we hear you, through your comments of course.

Syd: Ya! Get into the vibes because we are here!

Ang: Hahaha! Oh I love it.

Okay, let’s literally jump right in. Reframing your beliefs. Where did this come from? Is there something specific that you had moved through? Maybe a certain breakthrough you’ve experienced recently. Tell me all the things.

Syd: Ya, I can’t really pinpoint a specific moment. I think this is really the journey that I am on. Something that I did learn about my human design is that I have a channel, if you know human design it’s when you have two gates that are connected. This channel for me is about beginning and endings. It basically explains that I need to go through the entire cycle of something, and I am really good at it. It’s why I help people move through the endings of cycles and beginning of new cycles in their life. I can’t just do something halfway. When I do something halfway it’s probably because I wasn’t in the right energy when I started. Anyways, I am getting into things that aren’t needed.

When I begin a cycle I have to see it through. If you’ve been listening to the podcast for a few months now then you know I’ve been on this journey of healing my lack mindset and my fear of lack and shifting into an abundant mindset. This is a journey I’ve been on for a number of years, yet I can really see that I am in, not necessarily the final stages. The way I see the growth cycle is that I am in the stage where I am gathering the wisdom I’ve learned and the lessons I’ve learned and integrating and embodying everything. There are some subtle shifts that are taking place, but it’s really about me moving slowly in this process. For myself, in reframing my beliefs, more and more insight is coming to me in different ways where I am beginning to see how I had been living. I’m seeing where my fear is rooted in. I am seeing the thought patterns that trigger the fear and everything is making more sense to me, which is what’s allowing me to reframe my beliefs.

I think the biggest thing is that I’ve had two ah-ha moments recently that helped me to see that I was wrong previously in what I’ve said. I believe I’ve said it on a podcast, when I said output doesn’t equal input. What I mean by this is that I saw for the longest time that action, output as in action, equaled input as in money. The amount of action I would take would result in the amount of money I would make. I think this is a belief system that a lot of people carry. Now I can see that it’s not that that is wrong, it’s that my perspective of that is wrong. Output equals input from an energy base, not from an action base. So the energy that I embody, that is what creates input.

The output is the energy that I embody and share with the world, which is what magnetizes the input, the money, the blessings, the opportunities. Action is important, yet energy is more important.

Ang: Hold up here. Are you saying that output equals input?

Syd: Yes, that is exactly what I am saying.

Ang: Ya!

Syd: Which literally means energy equals energy. Right? The amount of energy that I am outputting, the amount of energy that I am embodying and creating within me and putting out into the world, is the amount of energy that I am calling into the world. To better understand this, what energy am I embodying? What energy am I putting out into the world? Is it fear? Is it a worry? Is it stress? Is it pressure? If that is the energy that I am embodying and putting out into the world, if it’s lack, then that’s the energy that I am calling in.

It’s not output equals input, as in the amount of action I have to do equals the amount I receive back. It is literally about how I am choosing to live, how I am choosing to experience life and this is what is going to magnetize everything back to me. Am I choosing to see that I already am abundant? I have food to eat, I have a roof over my head, I have clean water to drink. I get to embrace the beautiful, majestic energy of Mother Earth. I get to have these beautiful conversations. Am I seeing the abundance that is already in my life? Am I embodying and living from that energy? If I am, then I’m already magnetizing more of that abundance. There is nothing I need to do, I’m already living from abundant energy. This output, from my body, is inputting back into my experience, from the Universe.

Ang: Ok wow! I don’t … wow! Hold on! This makes so much sense. But it also doesn’t make sense at the same time. I’m saying this because, ya no wonder you are reframing your belief system because this is exactly where it stems from. I 100% understood before when we spoke about output does not equal input. It made so much sense. Whereas now I am at the same level of understanding that, ya, it does make sense that output equals input. Even though we are saying two different things, as you are saying you’ve completely shifted your perspective on the outcome of what it is that you are receiving. It’s not necessarily the work itself, woah!

Syd: Well, in the same thing because I already said action is important, yet energy is more important. It’s the reminder that if you are desiring millions of dollars you aren’t going to receive that energetically by sitting on the couch all day every single day. There is action that is required in order to get yourself into an energetic holding space for then that million dollars to flow into your life. But, is your action coming from pressure? Because then your energy is not aligned with the million dollars. Are you in an energy of feeling purpose? For myself, we’ve talked numerous times how the year of 2022, as you are listening to this, last year. The energetic theme for my year was leaving pressure and finding purpose. The entire year for me was about being able to build awareness on when I feel pressure. That took a lot of practice to acknowledge when my thoughts are leading from pressure, when my body feels pressured. It was always pressure to take action because I felt like I wasn’t doing enough, I was taking the wrong action or I needed to do more. It was always pressure in action because my belief system was output equals input as an action based belief system.

In the process of building awareness on the pressure I began to acknowledge that I was coming from stress, forcefulness and pressure. I want to live a life that is not pressure driven, it’s purpose driven. In this process of leaving pressure and finding purpose I was able to find practices, strategies and ways to guide my energy, my being, into purpose. To me, purpose feels like I am passionate about something, and I am so eager to bring this into fruition. It feels centered, calm, and fully connected to the Universe because my purpose is in direct connection to the Universe. Finding this energy then means I am inspired to take action, I know, not just know logically but intuitively, what to take action on that will lead me in the right direction. This means that my action does not look linear, especially as a generator. My action can be moving me in all sorts of directions that might not actually make sense in the linear working towards an end result. As a generator, I am meant to be taking action on the things that light me up. What lights me up at this moment might be going for a walk and connecting to Mother Earth. This is not an action that is logically bringing in clients, but energetically it is creating an environment that I am living in that is magnetizing more energy of inspiration, purpose, connection. This is then leading me to the next action which may be to write an email which then brings in clients.

Ang: Oh my gosh! I’m literally at a loss for words because I am sitting in the feels with you. This is blowing my mind and it makes so much sense! So much sense!

Syd: It really is this concept for me of reframing my beliefs, it’s not a flip of the switch. Your belief system is so embedded in your subconscious, which means that there are these thought patterns that you don’t even realize are happening. That is what the subconscious is, you don’t even realize it’s happening. These thought patterns are guiding you through life and they can be triggered because of something that has happened in your environment, or all of a sudden you feel an emotion. My process of reframing my beliefs is about learning what those subconscious beliefs are, and the way I do this is through meditation. I come out of my conscious mind and I step into my subconscious space in order to understand what energy is trying to lead me subconsciously. Then I can see how I can heal this energy so my subconscious space is coming from the belief system that I desire to carry. There is a lot of deep work that goes into the reframing of my belief system. I go back and connect with my ancestors and the lives they lived and where they carried pain, and what their belief systems were rooted in. Their DNA is in me, I carry their DNA, so maybe my subconscious beliefs are coming from their beliefs. In understanding what they experienced, through meditation I can heal that and release that. At the same time, I lead myself in meditation not just to heal and release the old beliefs, but to begin to instill the new beliefs. It’s a subconscious level. I listen to meditations that are filled with abundance, the conversation in this meditation is “I am abundant” and it’s very repetitive because I am trying to instill this new belief system in my subconscious. This way as I live my life, the old subconscious belief system isn’t continuing to trigger me in the fear of lack.

Ang: Wow! It makes so much sense with what you are saying, talking about consciousness and subconscious. Sometimes I call unconscious subconscious, I believe it’s the same thing. The only way we can actually tap into that, because it is possible clearly through meditation, but there are other ways of tapping into it. It’s taking the time through stillness to be able to tap into that and then figuring out from that point where you can start debunking those beliefs based on what is coming to you in meditation. I want to point this out Syd, and I know I’ve said it to you personally but I want to say it on air. This gift that you carry to be able to debunk these belief systems to help you in your spiritual growth journey is a beautiful gift you carry. Especially when you share it in the light you are in right now, it is so awe-inspiring because it really helps me personally, but I am sure it will also help our listeners to be able to reflect in the same regard in their lives. I wanted to say this is awesome!

Syd: Awe, thank you so much! I feel very lucky to be able to have this gift and over the past few years to really cultivate and strengthen this gift. It really stems from my willingness to connect with Spirit and not to just lead from logic. Also to trust that what I “see” people might say it’s my imagination making things up, whereas I believe there is an energy behind it. There is something deeper that is happening there. In all of this with reframing my beliefs it really is about acknowledging when I am coming from a low vibration of energy. When I am feeling the heaviness and recognizing that it is my job to transmute that energy and raise it into something that feels better. OUtput equals input. It’s my energy, it’s my job. What am I choosing to carry and to hold onto? Like you always say, healing is not linear. I may be feeling great at one stage and carrying a high vibration, yet something might happen, or based on the Moon Cycle I might shift and I might go into a lower vibration. Is this a time that I step into meditation to see what’s coming forward? It really is a process. I can see now that everything I am doing is making sense.

Ang: Ya it’s solidifying everything.

Syd: Exactly exactly. I can see when ego is leading me from pressure and I know how to connect back to my spirit and lead from purpose. So I am in this stage of reframing my beliefs and I am really excited to see where this next year takes me.

Ang: Absolutely! I would say it goes to show that last year was an absolute success for you.

Syd: 100%

Ang: 2022 as you said was all about going from removing pressure to now going to the purpose, purpose driven action. It goes to show that every single time you hopped into meditation that was the intent. How could you remove pressure to then go into purpose? It’s like the meditation you were explaining in the repetitiveness of I am abundant. How can you remove pressure to find purpose? Well, it needs to be repetitive. Here I am bringing the body expert into it all, your brain is just like any other muscle in your body. The more you work it, the stronger it gets and when I mean strong in this circumstance I mean strong as in you know. The level of awareness from when your ego is wanting to come in, you know that you’ve been here before and it’s ego. You can take a step back and then get into the purpose driven action. WIthout the repetitiveness it will be challenging for you, or for anyone, to get to where you are at.

I’m so glad that we were able to document the past year to show how literally in real time, how you were able to debunk the belief system.

Syd: Yes! Exactly, exactly. Sometimes we need to move slower in order for things to really become integrated and to embody this whole new way of living. I’ve said on the podcast numerous times, 2022 I felt amazing and it was the first time in a long time that I felt so amazing for such a long period of time. It was necessary on my journey. It was all because I started the year with one intention and that intention guided me throughout the entire year. I am excited to uncover what my intention is for 2023 and see where it guides me.

Ang: Yes! I was going to ask you but you answered it without me needing to. I’m excited to see what that new intention is for yourself. Wow! The things you’ve uncovered this year Syd are out of this world and I think it’s so important to recognize how important intention is. It really helps you lead that purposeful life and that’s all that we are trying to do. How can we be cool, calm and collected like a cucumber 24/7? Well, this is one way to do it, creating that purposeful intention and that’s exactly what you did!

Syd: I love it! So good! Well, thank you for letting me share my experience with reframing my beliefs. There is so much more that goes into it, but I am just excited to be here.

Ang: I love it, I love it. Well, thank you so much for sharing once again Syd. Dang! What a powerful episode today Syd. Hearing how your perception on output equals input is now output equals input has blown my mind. Listeners, if your mind is also blown please stop what you are doing right now and hit that 5 star button. This topic goes to show how powerful personal development is.
